Power Surge Protection

A power surge can originate outside your home. When this higher-than-normal current of electricity exceeds the operating range, it can have devastating effects on your home’s electrical system.

These power surges can cause arcing, melting of wires, burning of outlets and the more common result of destroying electronic devices plugged into your home’s power supply. While we may not be able to prevent a power surge from occurring, we can install a device to prevent this unwanted spike in electrical current from ever entering your home.

Say goodbye to those expensive power strips the electronic companies are always recommending, with a whole-home surge protector installed on your electrical panel.

Federal Pacific Electrical Panel Warning

Federal Pacific Electrical Panel

If your home was built from 1950 to 1990 you may have a Federal Pacific Electrical panel installed in your home. Every electrical manufacturer that makes panels or breakers must comply with NEC requirements.

While in business, Federal Pacific fraudulently labeled their breakers as meeting this requirement. As a result, the FPE stab-lock breakers tend to stick when they should trip. This causes the breakers to allow the circuit to continue, creating melting wires and starting electrical fires.

A 2017 test of most stab-lock breakers showed failure to trip almost 60% of the time. Federal Pacific breakers are the cause of almost 3,000 fires each year. Some insurance companies will not cover home or property damage with an FPE panel.

If you have one of these panels, it is time to get it professionally replaced.

Why Upgrade Your Home’s Main Electrical Panel?

Electrical panel

Your home’s main electrical panel is the heart of your electrical system. It distributes power to every outlet, light, and appliance in your home. Over time, older panels can become outdated, overloaded, or even unsafe. Upgrading ensures your home is powered safely and efficiently while preparing you for modern needs.

  1. Safety First
    • Older panels may not meet today’s safety standards, increasing the risk of overheating, tripped breakers, or even electrical fires.
    • Upgrading to a modern panel gives your family peace of mind with improved safety features and compliance with current codes.
  2. Support for Modern Lifestyles
    • Today’s homes demand more power—think HVAC systems, smart devices, high-efficiency appliances, and electric vehicle chargers.
    • A new panel ensures your system can handle these loads without constant tripping or damage to equipment.
  3. Energy Efficiency & Reliability
    • Modern panels are designed for efficiency, helping your electrical system run smoother and reducing wasted energy.
    • Fewer interruptions and more reliable power keep your home running the way it should.
  4. Future-Proof Your Home
    • Planning a renovation, adding a hot tub, solar panels, or an EV charger? An upgraded panel provides the extra capacity you’ll need.
    • Think of it as an investment that makes your home ready for today—and tomorrow.
  5.  Increase Home Value
    • A modern electrical system is a major selling point. Buyers appreciate the safety and convenience of a new panel, which can boost your home’s value and make it more attractive on the market.
